The homeowners are a professional couple, who are soon-to-be empty nesters. Looking forward to having their 2-story Tudor home to themselves, they decided they earned the master bath they’ve dreamed of. Finally a place for everything…durable materials and elegant, modern finishes.
Dark and uninspired: The master bath was not a space that offered the homeowners a soothing environment or a place to relax. In addition to two different ceiling heights and too many doors in the space, a lack of storage, tight spaces and worn finishes were among the issues that required a fresh design approach.
Luxurious Finishes:
The master bath features custom cabinetry throughout in rift-sawn white oak – a warm wood with a smooth even grain. Sculptural chrome hardware and fixtures add sparkle and standout against the antimicrobial and stain resistant quartz “Calico White” countertops.
The Axis Bath sconces by Quoizel add drama and optimum facial lighting.
Storage and convenience are highlighted with a floating makeup counter with shallow storage for cosmetics and jewelry, a tower for hidden electrical grooming appliances and linen and large item storage cabinet.
The shower features a rainshower, handheld spray and slide bar for a luxurious showering experience; recessed “his” and “hers” niches for products and oversized 10″x 30″ Roma Calacatta marble-look shower tiles. Stylish 8″ hex tiles add a modern interpretation to a classic motif in the heated floors.
