This client had a long wish list of features to be incorporated into her modestly sized bathroom. Top of the list was adding a washer and dryer, followed by lots of storage, separate soaking tub and shower, separate toilet area, heated towel bar and a luxurious spa like feel. We started by creating a laundry niche inside the bathroom that opened into her walk in closet. We added specialty grooming pullouts in the vanity, a 3’ wide recessed storage niche in the wall between the vanity and the toilet area, and niches in the shower. We created and a sense of calm and continuity by using the same soft watery patterned tile on all flooring and walls. We continued the visual expansion of space by replacing the closet door with a large mirrored door on sliding track hardware. It also serves as a dressing mirror and facilitates use of closet and bathroom.
